This user’s guide describes the characteristics, operation, and use of the INA700 evaluation modules (EVMs). These EVMs are designed to evaluate the performance of the INA700. Throughout this document, the terms evaluation board, evaluation module, and EVM are synonymous with the INA700EVM. This document includes a schematic, reference printed circuit board (PCB) layouts, and a complete bill of materials (BOM).

The INA700 is a digital power monitor with integrated 16-bit delta-sigma ADC specifically designed for space constrained current-sensing applications. The device includes an integrated copper shunt capable of up to 10 continuous amps with common-mode voltage support from –0.3 V to +40 V. The device can measure internal die temperature and power consumption for the monitored bus. The INA700 also has built-in diagnostic capabilities to indicate system health accessible through a digital output pin, ALERT. The device operates from a single supply of 2.7 V to 5.5 V, drawing less than 1.1 mA of current during operation over temperature, and < 5-µA current during shutdown. Users can interface the output with a multitude of microcontrollers (MCUs) in a standard I2C interface.
