Common applications of noninverting buffers & drivers

Most modern systems like PLC’s or network equipment contain some form of LED indicators. These LED’s need to be driven by either an MCU or other circuitry which is often not able to provide the high current drive required. One simple solution is to use a logic buffer or logic gate. This video walks through the design process and the important parameters to consider.

Debounce a Switch
Physical buttons and switches can produce multiple outputs from a single button press due to bouncing of the internal contacts. This video presents a simple solution to eliminate multiple triggers from this effect.

Hold a Signal During Controller Reset
In many systems, some functions must be maintained while the system controller is turned off, put to sleep or held in reset for a brief time. This video shows a simple method to hold a control signal line during controller reset.

Eliminate Slow or Noisy Input Signals
Sometimes slow or noisy signals are unavoidable in a system. This video discusses some of the specific issues seen when connecting a slow or noisy signal into a CMOS input, and what can be done to eliminate those signals.
