Overview

The Wi-Fi toolbox package provides all the capabilities required to debug and monitor WLAN/Bluetooth® Low Energy firmware with a host, perform RF validation tests, run pretest for regulatory certification testing, and debug hardware and software platform integration issues.

Features
  • Radio Tool - Radio Tool is a tool for RF evaluation and testing of CC33xx designs during development and regulatory certification. The tool enables low-level radio testing capabilities by manually setting the radio into transmit or receive modes. Usage of the tool may require familiarity and knowledge of radio circuit theory and radio test methods.
  • INI composer - The INI Composer tool is used to configure radio frequency parameters and modes specific to the CC33xx device. The tool outputs a bin file which must be installed on embedded linux filesystems. It can also be used in RadioTool for radio testing and regulatory certification.
  • Logger - The Logger tool is used to capture the firmware log messages and protocol transactions from the device. It provides visibility into the inner data and states of the device as well as the information regarding the protocol transactions with the remote devices.
  • To fully leverage these tools, a PC connection is required. To enable JTAG-to-USB communication with ratio tool, we recommend using the LP-XDS110ET LaunchPad™ development kit debugger or TMDSEMU110-U XDS110 JTAG Debug Probe. The serial logs can be captured with almost any type of USB to serial hardware. We recommend to use an FTDI serial cable or the CC31XXEMUBOOST BoosterPack™ plug-in module.

Release Information

The CC33xx Linux MPU Software Package delivers components that enable engineers to develop connected applications on Texas Instruments Wi-Fi Companion-IC devices. The product is comprised of multiple software components and examples of how to use these components together. In addition, examples are provided to demonstrate the use of each functional area and each supported device and as a starting point for your own projects.

What's new

  • OSPREY_LDB-2299 - COEX: BLE connection drop after a WIFI connection attempt with wrong PSK
  • BLE_OSPREY-209 - COEX: Sometime when moving from BLE to higher priority activity, FW asserts.
  • BLE_OSPREY-217 - Sending set parameters command for an already enabled ADV set, causes the ADV to stop.
  • OSPREY_LDB-2342 - COEX: FW assert due to ‘beacon RX urgent’ activity not cleaned properly on beacon timeout
  • BLE_OSPREY_211 - BLE central with multiple connections, sometimes new connections failed to be established

This PREVIEW CC33XX RTOS MCU Software Package delivers components that enable engineers to develop applications on the Texas Instruments CC33XX Wi-Fi devices and Sitara family of microcontrollers (MCU).

This software toolkit provides the drivers for CC33XX devices to be used with a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) on a microcontroller.


This is version R5 of the CC33xx MCU Software Package.
