This reference design utilizes an inductor-less switch capacitor convert topology for both high-power- density and a compact power stage (70mm × 55mm × 2.85mm). A simple control scheme utilizing a TLC555- Q1 timer enables a fixed conversion ratio output with either 4:1 or 3:1 conversion ratio and can be set for different power distribution requirements. For 4:1 conversion ratio, the full load efficiency is at 96.7% while the peak efficiency is at 98.5% (Iout = 30A). For 3:1 conversion ratio, the full load efficiency is at 97.6% while the peak efficiency is at 98.7% (Iout = 25A).
